Older homes and narrow streets
Houses near the Village tend to be smaller, older, and closer together than the newer parts of the metro. Driveways are often short or nonexistent, so we plan for street parking and a longer carry from the truck to the door.
Original windows and trim are common here, and we pad them the same way we pad a doorway anywhere else.

Street parking permits are worth checking with the city ahead of time if your street does not have room for a truck without blocking traffic. We can help you figure out what your specific block requires.
Because the streets are narrower here, we sometimes bring a smaller truck and make two trips rather than forcing a full-size truck down a tight block.
Renters and short leases
A lot of the housing near the Village is rented rather than owned, and turnover between leases is common in this part of the city. We see a steady stream of moves timed to lease end dates, often with a short window between move-out and move-in that leaves little room for delay.
If your new lease starts the same day the old one ends, tell us up front. We plan a tighter schedule for that kind of same-day turnover rather than treating it like a normal move.
Yard sales and donation runs
Plenty of clients in this neighborhood downsize before a move, since smaller bungalows do not always hold everything from a previous apartment or house. We can point you toward the donation options nearby if you want to lighten the load before the truck shows up.
A lighter load also means a faster job on move day, since the crew is carrying fewer boxes down streets that already take longer to reach than a wide suburban driveway.
