High-rise condos
Most Midtown towers require a freight elevator reservation and a certificate of insurance before move day. We handle both as part of the job and have worked in most of the larger buildings already.
Elevator windows book up fast at the end of the month, so the earlier your date is confirmed, the easier it is to reserve one.
Loading and parking
Street parking near Piedmont Park and along the main corridors is tight, and some buildings only allow a short loading window at the curb. We ask the building manager about loading rules ahead of time so the truck is not circling the block on move day.
Converted lofts and older buildings
The older converted buildings closer to the park often have narrower stairwells and freight elevators that run slower than a residential one. We plan extra time for those moves rather than promising a number that does not hold up.
Getting around Midtown on move day
The Connector runs along the edge of the neighborhood, and traffic on it can add real time to a move that starts mid-morning. We favor early starts here so the truck is loaded before the roads fill up.
Small apartments and studio moves
A lot of Midtown moves are studios and one-bedroom units, which usually take a two-person crew and a few hours rather than a full day. We still bring the same floor protection and blankets as we would for a full house, since a smaller job still means fragile items and a building to keep clean.
If you are moving between two Midtown buildings, the distance is short, but the elevator bookings and insurance paperwork still apply on both ends, so we plan the day around both buildings rather than just the one you are leaving.
Piedmont Park events and closures
Festivals and races through Piedmont Park close streets on certain weekends, which can change the route a truck needs to take to reach your building. We check the park's event calendar before confirming a weekend date so a closure does not surprise us on the day.
