Reaching a firm number starts with a quick back-and-forth about what is moving, which neighborhoods are involved, and when you need it done. Here is how that conversation usually goes.

What to tell us

The pickup and drop-off neighborhoods, the size of the home or office, your ideal date, and anything unusual such as a piano, a gun safe, or a third-floor walk-up with no elevator.

If you already know you want packing help, say so. If you are not sure, we can talk through the difference in scope and cost.

How we build the estimate

For local moves we estimate the crew size and hours based on your inventory and the access at both ends. For long-distance moves the figure is based on weight and mileage.

Larger homes and any commercial job get a walk-through, either in person or on a video call where you carry the phone room to room. A smaller one-bedroom or studio unit is usually easy to quote just from a written list of what is inside it.

Everything is put in writing before your date is locked in, so there is nothing to argue about on the day.

When to reach out

For an end-of-month move or anything in the middle of summer, reach out three to four weeks ahead. A date in the middle of spring or fall usually has more flexibility and can sometimes come together on shorter notice.

If another crew fell through on you, ask anyway. Schedules open up more than people expect, and we will tell you honestly whether we can fit you in.

After you book

Once your date is set, we send over the crew size, the arrival window, and a short list of things to have ready before the truck shows up. A quick call a day or two ahead of time covers any last questions on either side.

On the morning of the move, the lead calls when the truck is on the way, so you are not standing at the window guessing whether the crew is running early or late.

Questions before you commit

It is fine to call with a question before you are ready to book. People often ask about elevator bookings, certificates of insurance for apartment buildings, storage options, and what happens if the weather turns on move day. We are glad to walk through any of it.
